StreetKai
Feeding the homeless, connecting with the vulnerable.
About Our Association
StreetKai has been running for 30 months originally called Milo Night. Every Monday night a group of volunteers gather at the Willow St bus stop in Tauranga to feed, chat, and make connection with our local homeless community.
Our aim is to make a connection through kindness. We create a space where anyone can come and have a coffee, tea, Milo, feed themselves, and have a conversation. On any one night, we can connect with over 100 people of all ages, gender, and ethnicities.
We are a community response to an ever growing issue in Tauranga. The only questions we ask are "are you hungry? Would you like some more?"
We are not affiliated with any other organisation or charity and we are always in need of donations. As well a food we supply toiletries including toothpaste, razors, soap, shampoo, sanitary products, new socks, new underwear, and dog food, as well as tents, blankets and sleeping bags.
